Patient, goal-oriented and socially involved
Niek obtained his Aviation Operations diploma at the Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. After his studies he worked as a ‘Purchasing Officer’ within the shipping industry. Here he found out that his passion for aviation was too great and decided to return.
During his internship and thesis he became acquainted with ATM. For his internship he did a benchmark study on the integration of IFR traffic at Lelystad Airport. Throughout his thesis, he investigated the consequences of speed restrictions on fuel use, noise and runway capacity during a continuous descent approach at Amsterdam Schiphol Airport.
In his spare time Niek likes to play tennis and padel. After having fulfilled a board role at his tennis and padel association, he still likes to work for various advisory committees. In addition, he is a real Burgundian and loves to cook and then enjoy it with friends and family.
