Real-time simulations of the core airspace structure design

In June 2025, the core airspace structure design over the Netherlands and the south-western part of Germany was evaluated during one week of real-time simulations. These simulations took place at the Netherlands Aerospace Centre in Amsterdam. The simulations were executed by 30 air traffic controllers and 27 simulation pilots from LVNL, MUAC, DFS, the Royal Netherlands Air and Space Force and the German Air Force. MovingDot experts coordinated the simulations on behalf of DARP. The video below (in Dutch) gives some insight into the simulation objectives and an impression of the set-up.
