"7th ALTA Pan American Aviation Safety Summit", 20-23 June 2016

After a successful presentation last year in Medellín, Colombia, which focused on the management of changes in Air Traffic Management (ATM), this year MovingDot shared several of its own experiences at the 7th ALTA Pan American Aviation Safety Summit in Panama City, Panama.

Henk Waltman presented examples of how MovingDot has bridged the gap between SMS policies and operations. Building on ICAO’s regional philosophy that no country should be left behind, Henk’s presentation focused on the importance of identifying relevant policies, the value of harmonization of efforts, and how to constructively turn theory into reality. Key takeaways provide the ATM stakeholders with tangible means to further strengthen safe air traffic operations, echoed by the positive response from the audience and follow-up conversations.

Additionally, Sigmund Lentze was invited to moderate a panel focused on the RNAV/PBN implementation in the Latin American and Caribbean Region. Harmonized milestones towards RNAV/PBN implementation is another example of how theory is turned into reality.
